What MyLibra is
MyLibra is a creative-writing tool that uses Google's Gemini API to generate fiction. You describe a story; the AI writes it. The content shown to you is produced on the fly by a probabilistic model and is not authored, fact-checked, or endorsed by us.
AI-generated content
- Generations are non-deterministic. Two identical inputs may produce different outputs. Quality varies turn to turn.
- The model may produce inaccuracies, contradictions, or content that doesn't match what you intended. This is a property of the underlying technology.
- Generated content is not professional advice of any kind — medical, legal, financial, psychological, or otherwise. Don't act on fictional scenarios as if they were guidance.
- MyLibra applies content-policy guidance to the model but cannot guarantee any specific output. If the model produces something inappropriate, use the in-app metrics or contact channels to flag it.
Your content, your responsibility
You are responsible for what you ask MyLibra to generate. Specifically:
- Don't ask the model to produce content that violates Google Gemini's usage policies.
- Don't generate, store, or distribute content depicting minors in sexual contexts. No exceptions.
- Don't generate content that targets a real person with harassment, defamation, threats, or sexual material without their consent.
- Don't use generations to impersonate, deceive, or commit fraud.
Personal, non-commercial use only
MyLibra is for personal, non-commercial use. Content generated through the app — prose, summaries, choices, cover art — may not be sold, licensed, monetized, or used in any commercial product or service. This includes (without limitation):
- Selling or licensing generated stories, whether as standalone books, ebooks, or audiobooks (for example, self-publishing on Amazon KDP).
- Including generated content in paid newsletters, courses, paid podcasts, or any subscription product.
- Using generated content as marketing, advertising, or promotional material for a commercial product.
- Sharing generated content on monetized platforms in a way that earns you revenue (ads, tips, subscriptions, sponsorships).
- Using generated content to train, fine-tune, or evaluate any other AI model.
Personal use — reading the stories, sharing them with friends, posting on a non-monetized blog or social account — is fine. If you're unsure whether a use is commercial, assume it is and reach out at support@mylibraapp.com before doing it.
Account and data
MyLibra has no user accounts. Identity is handled by your Apple ID via iCloud. Anonymous metrics, if enabled, follow the Privacy Policy.
Service availability
MyLibra depends on Google's Gemini API and Apple's CloudKit. We don't control either. Outages there break generation or sync here, and we may not be able to give an ETA.
Liability
MyLibra is provided as-is. We are not responsible for losses arising from generated content, service outages, sync failures, or your use of the app. Where local law doesn't permit limiting liability, the limit applies to the maximum extent it can.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be surfaced in-app on the next launch.
